l was involved in obtaining blood for a pals operation in Mu&gla. He is A pos, When i asked the hospital if they had a blood bank here they said yes but if you pull out 1 litre then you must replace that 1 litre with any blood type.  The hospital was adverse to using the blood bank because they could not tell how long the blood had been in the bank & they had to use fresh blood. After advertising through the radio, street tanoy system & a couple of men on a bike with a loud speaker, going up & down Çalis Plaji, Turks as well as Brit's went to Mu&gla to give some blood.  The blood was then taken to the Devlet in Mu&gla to be tested & that cost 28YTL for each donor's blood to be checked.  lf we hadn't have had the volunteer donor's & had to rely on the Blood Bank, my pal possibly would not have survived the operation.
