Bank Charges on Current Account?
« Reply #10 on: March 08, 2009, 14:41:59 PM »
I have bank accounts with Fortis and Finnans both good for internet banking, with my Fortis account I can change money from gbp when the rate is good and also set monthly accounts up in lira I did this when on a recent trip to the UK which was handy when the tl went up against the £.
I am sure I do not get charged by Fortis but Finnans do charge. Alper from Fortis will give more info on charges he comes on here as the banker

Hi Apler - we might be paying you a visit in June. Hopefully we can set up an internet account to help us pay bills etc from the UK.

Alper - I'll be over on May 16th for 10 days. Like Stoop I'm going to pop in to see you and discuss setting up an Internet account that will let me pay my utility bills from the UK.

Yes - I have to say we have been very happy with the repsonses and speed of reply we get from Alper  :)

So like we did in the UK (moved from RBS to First Direct) we have moved our savings account first - (from Finans) - waited to see how it went and we are happy  8) so now we will gradually move current accounts and standing orders across to Fortis - mainly due to the excellent service from Alper.

The danger of course is Alper could become as busy as Ayse and then we will all have to move to TEB  ;)

Ian :D

We have garanti account we can access through internet. I deposited 250YTL for first time in november to pay electric standing order and they promptly took 25YTL yili 1 charges. In january they took yili 2 charges 29YTL. I hope that is it for the year, so far it has cost 54YTL to pay a 20 YTL electric bill :o. I dont think I can afford for them to pay anymore bills for me .
