Hi all. Has anyone ever been refused entry into Turkey because they have over stayed their visa? We made the mistake last year and went 1 day over our visa, paid a big fine and now we hear that when we come this year we could get a days ban!!! Does anyone know anything about this please?

We have neighbours who overstayed by one day in September 2008. They were fined 110 TL each, but had no problem when they came back in February.

Do you not have to get visa direct from embassy in London?

i overstayed by one day and unfortunately for you lot,they let me back!!!! no problem.x

I think that only applies if you've overstayed by more than 14 days and have been told by the Pasaport Polis that you have to apply for a visa at the Turkish Consulate in London.

KKOB is correct. If you overstay by 15 days then you get a ban from entering back into Turkey and need to apply for future visas from the Turkish consulate
