Visa - 30 days NOT 90 days

Hi - don't know if this has been covered but arrived at Dalaman at 17.20hrs yesterday and there was a sign above the window of every visa point - £10 of 15 Euro for 30 days.

It still said 90 days on the sticker but it was clear we are now in a new era

If they are cutting it to 30 days will that see the demise of the visa runs as it will probably be cheaper to get a residents permit.

It was also discussed last month when people stated the case for not bothering with a residencey permit, I don't think this argument stands up now. I am glad we applied 3 weeks ago I think there will be a mad rush and a large backlog

Best way if you are thinking of doing residency is to get all the paperwork sorted in fethiye then take it down to Mugla the next day yourself and get it rubberstamped and come home with your residency pass.

Tinx - if we were to come for 24 months next year to see how things go what would it cost us for both of us for a 2 year visa or is it a one year visa which we renew after a year?

Oh dear it looks like we are going to have problems.  For the first time this year we are going out for 2 months at a time May/June and September/October.  How do we get over the 30 day visa.  We can't get a rrsident's permit as they hold your UK passport, I believe, until the resident's permit comes through and that would take longer than the time we are going to be out there for.  Any suggestions please.

for a two year visa I'm guessing about 1,000ytl each at todays prices.

the rate is 570tl each per year plus Muthar fees these vary ours was only 20 tl we paid postage 90Tl 20 tl to have fomrs printed 20 tl for passport photos and 150tl each for someone to do it for us. As Tinks said you can go andget it done the same day if you travel to Mugla.
