What about the Devlet hospital in Calis, they should be fairly unbiased.
Failing that, if you don't want to go to another local hospital, I have heard that the university hospital in Izmir is very good.

Why are you needing the op?

If that question is too personal ...ignore it

back ops can be risky. go to izmir/ankara or istanbul. if you need a major op.

hi heather07..had mri scan at esnafe, they found 3 discs come out and pressing against my nerve, they advised i should have operation to remove the discs and fit titanium screws to fuse the vertibrae..seems a bit extreem to me ,so going with scan to mugla and ask them what they think, will let you know what they say

That does sound extreme Terrie.  Have you tried manipulation?
The reason I ask is I have back pain and have been advise by Physio that back operation is a last resort and not to let anyone near my neck which is where my problem lies. Definately get a second  or even third opinion but make sure that it is the only thing you can do

I think if you have doubts you need to look at it a bit more.
Here is a couple of sites I found about spinal operations. There are plenty more on the internet.

well.had my appointment at mugla(DIDNT TELL THE CONSULTANT WHAT THE ESNAFE HAD SAID)he studied the MRI scan, examined me,and said 'you have three discs out, intense physiotherapy would be the best help to start with...no operation i said? no,its nowhere bad enough for an op!yet anyway.Beginning to wonder about the esnafe doctors(are they in it for they money?)anyway i'm much happier today!alway get second opinion if not sure yourself!simon
