I think it is 1810.00 pounds. New rates are in the forum under the section about residency. The book is also 138 TL.

As far as I can see the only necessity of a residence visa is To buy a vehicle (At the moment) and to have a phone line installed in your name. The only convenience is to avoid four border jumps a year  According to a non Fethiye local paper a five year residency visa now equates to £90 a quarter against £10 for a visa hop (Plus travel which can be partially offset if you buy duty free). Personally I am seriously considering dropping residency to go for the border hop option as I do not intend buying a vehicle and already have a land line/ADSL installed. I occasionally go to Meis any way for a day out. Does anyone have valid reasons why I should not go this way?
In the same article the paper reported that they had spoken to the British Embassy concerning the 50% increase in fees and was told it was due to the increase in similar fees by the British Government. I have looked on various government/border/immigration websites with subsections with headings I don't even begin to follow so was unable to confirm this, not that anything could be done if it were not true.
If I am right in my assumptions how many people will follow this route or maybe even have one person in the family get the residency for any applicable benefits while the rest use a quarterly visa?
