About 6 months ago I was told that I had a cataract in my left eye. I went to see an eye doctor in Mugla 3 months ago and he confirmed it and said it was growing slowly.

Yesterday I went to the Esnaf and was told that I had a cataract in each eye and they are ready for removal.

I was wondering if anyone has had cataracts operations at the Esnaf and what were their experiences.

If I was you I would get a second opinion before accepting what the Esnaf told you.

I think a second opinion would be a good idea too.

I was told this also during an eye test in Fethiye. I have had several tests here in the UK and there as been no sign of any problems whatsoever. The turkish optical also said I had glycoma dandruff on my eyelashes and sun damage. None of these were proved to be so. Get a UK second opinion mate. oh by the way the specs made to his prescription were useless I couldn't see a bloody thing and missed the dolmus step and loosened two front teeth , which was fun

I have recently been back to the Uk and had a second opinion. The result being that what I was told at the Esnaf is a load of bull and it is exploiting my condition to get fees. Yes, I do have cataracts but there is no need for surgery for a while yet. I should only have them done when necessary and my vision is impaired.
