Someone was asking me about the price of residency but lost the email so I will put it here!I think these prices are the latest.

1 year 370 GBP

2 year 730 GBP

3 year 1090 GBP

4 year 1450 GBP

5 year 1810 GBP

There is also a charge of 138 lira for the small residency booklet.

Now it makes sense as to why they want people to buy residency. They will make almost 10x as much from those on long stay whilst not really altering things much for the casual holidaymaker or those who do a few trips per year. Mind you I would I would have thought just over £1 a day ain't that bad to live in the place of your dreams.

Stoop I have to disagree with you there as there are no advantages to that one pound a day. We get no benefits at all we have the same rights as the tourists at ten pounds for 90 days.

A Tourist Visa gives you the right to be a tourist.
A Residency Permit gives you the right to be a resident.
Quite different.

There are a few advantages like the right to live here (illegal to live here on tourist visa), the right to buy a vehicle, the right to have a telephone, and the right to 50% discount for treatment at state hospitals.

I never said there were any advantages (though obviously there are). I just said I didn't think it was a bad deal to live in the place of your dreams for £1 a day.

We have never had 50% discount at the state hospitals and we have been resident for 3 years.
