Breaking news this morning. It seems that now you must have residency to buy a house! You will only be able to sell a house you own to a Turk or a foreigner who has residency! Who in their right mind will buy a holiday property and have to fork out the RISING residency fee each year to allow couple of weeks holiday?  What will happen to all those people who already have a property but no residency?? You will have to  take it out in order to sell!  If you go back to the UK and your property is unsold you will have to maintain residency or sell only to a Turk. What is that likely to do to the Value of your property?

Sounds like another bureaucratic fiasco....maybe it will get changed .....dropped  but I am not holding my breath:(

This is coming up every couple of weeks now. When it last came up we checked with the Tapu office and they said they know nothing of such a thing. They would definitely have to have been informed in order to do their job properly. Evidence from an official source is needed because at this moment in time it is just another rumour that refuses to die.
