Maintenance and military clearance
« on: February 01, 2011, 11:56:59 AM »
Hello 2 questions here. Hope this is ok.
Can anyone give me any info on A2Z maintenance. They are being appointed to run our appartment . Are they good bad etc.. do they provide additional services such as laundry etc.. They are due to contact me...but just wondered about your views.
Before I get my Tapu I need military clearace .. does this take long or is it an excuse not to give me my Tapu...

Thanks Mike

TAPU - We signed contract and sent off for military clearance on 10th January, so will repost once we hear that it has been cleared, that will give you some idea of timings, our previous purchase took 7 weeks to clear. As for the reasoning behind it - just accept it as another "tax" on house purchase, selling agents have no control over it.

Tapu's can take a few months, think we waited about 5 months for ours.
Don't know about your Maintenance Company, try the Search facility at the top of the page.

The last one I saw through to military clearance/tapu/habitation certificate was bought (contracts signed and military clearance application made) mid September and all done and dusted just before Christmas, around the 21st December as I recall. If yours is much more than that sort of timescale then you need to ask why. Often the military application simply wasn't made.

We don't take ownership until our final payment is made in May 2011. I think our Tapu would be handed over then and military application made then also. Not sure.

thanks

That would be normal Mike, your tapu would come around completion time on an off-plan purchase. Worry not.

We got our military clearance within 2 months.
As for A2Z we used them to do a spring clean and ended up spending 5 hours cleaning the place ourselves! Maybe that was a one off but I wouldnt go near them now.[:(!]

I thought that you had to get military clearance before you got your Tapu

Yes you do, so builders can apply for it so it's ready around the time the expect the project to be completed.
