Standing Order Ignored
« on: May 25, 2011, 09:31:10 AM »
This is a warning to anyone who set up Standing Orders with Fortis last year. ;)
We set up standing orders for utilities last year with Alper at the Fortis Bank, which is now TEB.  This week we were contacted by Engin at Fethiye Property Services to say our Electricity had been cut off.
He very kindly went and paid our bill.  So, even after setting up a Standing order for the payment of Electricity we still get cut off.
We don't know if TEB are still taking our money.:-\  We have contacted Alper who is now at ING Bank he says he will try and find out what has happened at TEB. :o

We had the same with ING - never paid a single bill by Standing order and Orange had to go and pay our bills for us to get us reconnected. We asked at the bank what the problem was and the response was "Problem" - actually no problem 'cos it took us 2 minutes to close our ING account and go to Finans and we pay our standing bille by standing order just fine now. Promblem yok

Sorry you had problems Jacqui, it's probably because of the change over from Fortis to TEB. We have always found TEB very reliable for our DD's, had our electric & water with them for over 3 years with no problems.
