Moved Area - need some advice please
« on: May 26, 2011, 20:50:16 PM »
We have recently moved to Calis from Tasyaka. Our current RP's run out in August. Koray Atak did all our paperwork the first time but we would like to try to do it ourselves this time. Hope someone can offer some information on the following questions:

1. Where is the Muhtar for Foca Mah located?
2. What paperwork do we need to register with him?
3. Do we need to register with the Police at Gunlukbasi as well?
4. Is there anywhere else we should register before we attempt to do our RP's?

And if anyone would like to offer a step by step guide to doing the actual RP's we'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance for any info. Glo

You should be registered with the police - when you went to notify them of your change of address they would have done it.  Don't think you have to do it again. what did the put in your blue book when you moved address?   The Muhtar is on a side street off the main Gunlukbasi Road opposite the police station.  You cna get all the forms you need from the Passport Police.

Thanks for your reply Kizkucuk, we haven't yet notified the police of our change of address, it's something we need to do I expect, mainly because we didn't know we had to, hope they don't fine us for late registration !!

Whoops  - the blue book says you should notify them within 48 hours of your move. Surely they won't fine you - but then this is Turkey and they often seem to do things we don't expect.  Better add it to your things to do next week - there used to be a step by step guide to RPs on the Fethiye Times website not sure if it's still there :-)

Kizkucuk you are right it does indeed say 48 hours, never read the back pages before. Does make you wonder if immigrants to the UK have to register with the local police everytime they move house, and if they actually do !! Anybody would think we were out on parole LOL. Will get it done next week.

Davybill - can't find anything on CBF, can you point me to the post please, other wise will look up Fethiye Times one. Thanks to both for your replies.

Go to the post above this one in the residency and visas section on the froum.  it's headed residency costs reduced - go to page 10 or 11 and there is a recent post describing the process.   :-)

Thanks again for the input, I'll look up the the RP guide and print it off. As far as the Muhtar bit goes we are now sorted. It's the Passport Police you need to notify of change of address, but we were advised that as we would be doing RP's in August to wait till then as the Passport Police are snowed under at the moment doing new RP's. You don't have to register with the local Police anymore.

A bit more information for others. The Muhtar behind the Devlet hospital (in the wooden hut) is for Arcarca Mah. The Foca Mah Muhtar is up a side street from the Wedding Circle.

After you get the forms (form 5) from the Muhtar you now have to go to the Nufus Office, ground floor in the Tapu building in Fethiye, they will give you some more forms, one of which is a small slip which you need to take back to the Muhtar.
