Urgent Need Advice
« on: July 25, 2011, 12:57:34 PM »
Just been informed today that my new passport has been processed.

Problem, my visa runs out on Wednesday, my last day of travel,  but my passport probably wont arrive until Thursday/Friday.

Has anyone actually been on the Meis run with an out of date Visa and if so , what happened.

Have tried the consulate, there not sure because I do have a passport.

My fixer says "no problem" pay the fine as Kas

Any Ideas

hi, my residency was up for renewal on 3rd july...had sent off to germany for new passport, realised that there was a delay in issue of new passports,so went to passport police and in my best turkish spoke to the chief, and explained the problem, they said they could give me 3 weeks grace..but after that they would have to fine me..passport arrived with one day to spare.
make sure if your passport needs to be renewed, send off early,8 weeks at the moment

Ok
Apreciate the coments. Just don't want to be the one they make an example of.

The consul has been great they have checked and as long as they include the conditions of travel in the temporary travel document, then they will issue it to me tommorow. That required a memo from Carol and Tyfun. Thanks to them and the consulate I am off to Rodes on Wed.

By the way , Carol & Tyfun have stopped doing the Meis run only Rodes and its 388 TL roughly for two people.

When you get your passport back it would be advisable to get residency at approx £50 per year?  Its a lot cheaper and solves a lot of problems.
