There is another news from Passport Office;

Everyone know well that we could prepare and get the docs to Mugla to sort visa out in a day when we had rush...but now they do not allow it, and all process must be done in Fethiye...about the season they are so busy that it takes 8 weeks instead of 5-6 as before...

Please be careful if you had any plan for going away.

Also you can only apply 15 days before the expiry of your current visa and also you must apply no later than 15 days after it expires. If you do not apply within the 15 days you could incur extra cost/fine.

Has anyone managed to get their visa well before the 15 days before expiry rule mentioned above?

no...they wont allow you to have the application forms

No they wont and you can apply for renewals upto 15 days AFTER expiration to.
Also it is not a visa but a permit. Mugla, fethiye or other security centers do not and have never issued visas. Thats a different animal.
