Have you ever explored Vodaphone unlocking it if you tell them you need to use it abroad on holiday.I thought I heard once that might be possible. Many countries need a local sim card as your provider does not always have an agreement with a local phone company. Just a thought.
Apart from that, I don't think it will be cheaper in Turkey to unlock as my Nokia wasn't and there are not a lot of HTCs around.
Hey get the HTC Sensation, newer and better LOL

It will cost you a lot more than £35 just for the flight alone:D: :) ;)

I got my phone unlocked by phoning vodafone, told them I wanted to use it abroad, they emailed me the unlock code and instructions, no charge.

Orange wanted stupid money to unlock mine.  Ended up not bothering and buying a PAYG sim for the UK and buying a new phone here.  Even if you get it unlocked you will still need to register it when you get here.  Turkcell will block any SIMs used in unregistered phones after 3 weeks.  5tl in the Turkcell shop - take your passport.  You used to be able to bring one phone every 2 years but think it's a year now,
