Christmas Turkey
« on: August 06, 2013, 21:09:50 PM »
We fancy Christmas in Turkey this year.
We have previously done Amsterdam, Cologne, Prague, and Barcelona
as well as  Istanbul and Calis for Easter.
We thought Izmir (for a change) but Easyjet haven't released their flights from LGW yet
(despite telling us they release flights 6 months before departure)
Recommendations for a 'Christmas in Turkey' would be appreciated    :)

Christmas is just another day in Turkey. New Year's Eve is far more significant.

Think you'll find Easy only fly out of Luton to Istanbul in the winter, also lots of folk go all inclusive in Antalya for the Christmas period.
Christmas eve is when most celebrating is done, Christmas day a little flat,as KKOB say's NewYears eve is PARTY TIME.

Not fussed about celebrations - we don't 'do' Christmas (or New Year), its just another day of the year
(Bah Humbug !!) But as my work is closed for the week we might as well go somewhere for a break  ;D
Surely if Easyjet are not planning to fly LGW/Izmir at Christmas they would have told me
when I called them last week though ?

Hi.
As we are missing our usual Summer jaunt to Calis this year, we were also thinking about going for either Christmas or New Year...probably New Year.  Unless they have made a huge mistake Thomas Cook are showing flights direct to Dalaman at really reasonable prices

Sun 22/12 from Gatwick at 12.40 for £107.99  returning from Dalaman on 29/12 at 19.45 for £60.49 or New Year Sun 29/12 at 12.40 for £107.99 returning on 5/1 at 19.45 for £113.99!! No mention of any stop offs at Istanbul or anywhere else???? I didn't put Dalaman in as the destination just all Turkish Airports and it just popped up!!  :)
