Returned last night. Journey to Dalaman with Fethiye airport transfers was perfect, early to arrive and very comfortable. Check in the quickest we've known! The usual slow laborious process at passport control. Had a result at the bar in that the 2 coffees we bought for 14 ytl each came with a free sarny and a bun! Then just when we thought all was smooth running it all went ti*s up! Lots of ground staff milling around, then they disappeared. Our departure time came and went and we didn't! Rumours started to circulate that we couldn't take off as there was a flock of birds ! Of course we then noticed several planes taking off in either of the possible directions. We finally took off 2.5 hours late , which considering they cancelled the Glasgow flight wasn't a big deal! However they didn't tell us anything, people were getting agitated and fed up and if they'd told us what actually had happened ( bird strike on landing requiring engine checks before departure) they'd have avoided the hassle from irate Loiners!
