You should have walked off the ship, selected your taxi driver and asked to be taken to the beach/marina.

We don't like beaches.  We have never even sat on Calis Beach.  However, we have done the taxi thing when on cruises.  Always a good idea.

I have never sat on Calis Beach (possibly we did once on Koca Calis Beach), nor have I sat on Essaouira beach or Agadir beach - been to Benidorm where there is a lovely beach, never sat on that either. We like the beach. We like to sit with a coffee or a cold drink and look at the beach. And the sea, and peripheral features as provided or indeed not.
