We are planning to emigrate to Turley in the near future and wish to bring our Great Dane along with us. Has anyone had experience with transporting their pet in regard to air transport, customs, price etc, etc?
I welcome any help and advice with this!

Regards

Joe

We brought 2 Springer Spaniels out 4 years ago using Overhill Kennels near Bristol. You can contact them for info at www.overhill.co.uk

We've recommended them several times on this and other forums and people that have used them have been very happy with their services.

They're far cheaper than the "Home Counties" ones that use the London airports.

Hy Joe_allison
My freind brought her dog from uk as excess baggage for 75£
I was quoted £600 for a cat.
My friend going back was quoted 2500£ for a small dog avoiding 6 months quarintine. so prices can vary. I would strongly suggest you have a plan in your mind incase of return, my friend didnt and had 3 months of terrible worry.  also depending where your going to live, some areas are terrible for snakes and scorpions therefore dog walking is a nightmare.
best of luck

I think you've got to be looking at somewhere in the region of £1,500 - £2,000 to have a Great Dane flown out here.

I've just checked back and it cost us about £1,200 for each of our dogs.
