I keep seeing on here how good the lamb casseroles are i have had three the worst one in guvens the dish was filled to the top with very hot oil ,a few bits of meat and a couple of bits of veg i'm not saying it was bad because i dont know how they cook casseroles over here all the others were swimming in fat as well ,if thats how they are cooked thats fine i wont bother any more,i'm used to gravy made with water .

Here's a version of Iskender Kebap lance. Never tried it myself (very rich) but everyone seems to love it.   :)

Iskender Kebab is sliced Doner Meat on top of sliced flat bread covered with a spicy tomato sauce  and a hot butter sauce and usually served with yoghurt.Dont get it mixed up with Iskembe Lance.  ;)

The Iskender place in the new shopping mall serves it very nice, the chef brings extra tomato sauce and a pan of melted butter to your table

Doğan also recommends the new place at the shopping centre for Iskender. The best I found previously was the one at Bursa Iskender near us now sadly a clothes shop.

In the past I always used to have lamb güveç at Paşa. I found the lamb more tasty than chicken as I guess some of the fat is also included which to me adds to the taste but I know some people don't like too much fat.

The lamb fat taste is different to oil which I wouldn't like as usually it's sunflower oil and I don't like any refined fats used in cooking.
