Title: Secret Garden
Post by: sadler on June 03, 2015, 17:25:02 PM
What a gem. Good service, food and value for money. Free starters with bread and dips. Situated on the market road between The Pines and the new bakery. Opposite Yapi Market. Lovely. We have used this on several occasions. Our daughter, who stayed with us for a week recently, had the moussaka and commented that it was one of the nicest meals she had had in Turkey.   :)

Just thought I would "bump" this as there is another thread running at the moment. Really enjoyed several meals at this restaurant during our stay in May/June earlier this year.   :)

Can anyone point me to where this is please? Their address on Facebook page seems to be different to the Trip Advisor address?

Thanks

David

I think the Trip Advisor map is accurate.

Secret Garden is on the road to the Sunday Market.

We had a very bad experience in there last month :(

Just next to Baba Firin the Bakery.  We have read mixed reports about it.

I seem to remember that I posted another review in a later thread than this one, that our last meal there was not good. A pity that some of these establishments start off brilliantly But fail maintain their original high standards.  :(

Have to concur with some comments, the food was not good, too much chatting between family, will not be returning.

Despite sitting in The Secret Garden for 15 mins and despite me holding up my hand to catch attention, no-one came to the table to even give us a menu. My son and I got up and walked out. I don't think they even noticed. Never been back.

We ended up across the road at a restaurant I do not even know the name of. The service and food has been good enough at this restaurant for me to return with my husband this time on a further two occasions just before we go shopping at the Sunday market. It's nothing amazing but the service is attentive and efficient.

Not certain Methol but could be Cafe Inn. Agreed when we went - nothing amazing but service attentive and efficient. Food ok.

No shelter for a wheelchair though and it was the night of the storm   ;)

Thanks all, I've since seen the other thread in the bars / restaurants Q&A section with some terrible reviews.

We'll be skipping this one now, and going elsewhere.

Had two meals in the tent place next to the small park by our hotel now - the Mutlu and both have been quite good. Great atmosphere with Turkish band and Turks getting up for a dance.

Anyway. For the mods, a suggestion that the two bar / restaurant sections be merged? Seems lots of lost or repeated and you end up having to trawl two sections to find what you're after...

Finally, was hoping to head over to the island for dinner one night so I'll start my search on reviews of that...

PS yes it really is 4.11 am - my hubby woke my by snoring AGAIN!

We had a meal here again this week and were served promptly, nice free starter and both meals hot and tasty, quite relieved as we had enjoyed the place and June so wanted to give them another chance.

Three of us had a meal there last night and the food was spot on.Service was attentive but not in your face and the bill for 3 main courses and 3 alcoholic drinks came to 99tl.Thats the third time we have eaten at The Secret Garden since it opened and we have not had a bad meal there.  :)

There would be no need to trawl two sections if people could grasp the simple concept that the reviews one is for reviews and the questions and discussions one is for questions and discussions.

Finally here, on the way back from migros me & the Mrs popped in the secret garden for a breakfast each & 2 coffee's (36TL), very enjoyable but must say I loved the olive bread I bought from babafinns when we got home.
