Maria Sharapova has admitted "after" failing a drug test that she didn't realize that she was taking a banned substance and she is so so sorry sob sob.Why is that every single drugs cheat gives the same old tired pathetic excuse.I hope they ban her and every drugs cheat for life. At least we won't have to hear that ridiculous scream she makes.

  Russia has this morning warned that a lot more Russian athletes will be failing the tests.! Sounds as though they've had notification.

With all her advisors, medics, trainers etc, there was absolutely no reason for her not to know her medication was now a banned substance. It is now being questioned if she ever actually need to use it for the last 10 years. She's been outed and deserves the consequences. (IMHO)

Seems it was heart medication.  Why with no heart condition would you take s  such medication unless you have an ulterior motive?

Probably for the same reasons that people who appear perfectly sane, dose themselves with horse tranquiliser ( Ketamine or Ket ).

Tried that on the other half KKOB but when she woke up it hadn't improve her tennis so I got a new partner.

She's apparently been using it for 10 years but it is only this year that is was added to the list of prohibited drugs.

If only there was something they could take that stopped the awful screaming accompanying every stroke..

  Today the manufacturers of the drug she was taking, Meldonium, said it is designed to be taken for a maximum period of 6 weeks. !!

  She has admitted taking it for 10 years, so she, her medics and her fitness team have some explaining to do I think. Cheating sods.

From what I have heard, although she has been taking the drug for 10 years it had not been on a continuous basis, apparently!!

Apparently, meldonium has never been licenced in the US, where Sharapova lives. Surely, if she did need medication, there would have been drugs more readily available in her home country.
