Title: New Roadtrip looming, South East Turkey
Post by: academylin on November 21, 2016, 13:38:01 PM

Hi again, we are shortly heading off on our travels, so perhaps you might be interested to follow as this time we are road tripping around your favorite Country.

Caseys " planning blogs " will give you the general schedule for the trip and at the weekend we organized campsites, pansyions and one or two pretty awesome hotels too, so if you can remember to keep following his journey from Nov 30th we are on the road.

Mersin, Nigde, Konya ( for the Mevlana festival ) Cappadocia and Göreme for xmas and balloon flights, Antalya, Alanya and more..... I can't remember now- Casey planned the route!!!

This planning was done some weeks ago, keep reading for informative posts on " Ta wiz" " comp crew courses" and " rememberance day" amongst others........

Thanks for looking!!

When I read your title my first thought was that, given the current security situation in south east Turkey, you must be either an adrenaline junkie or just plain crackers.

However, seeing Mersin, Nigde and Konya I'm making the assumption you're heading north from Mersin (southern Turkey) and not heading east into south east Turkey?  Its such a shame the situation in the east is what it is, you're missing out on being able to scoot round the corner to Antakya, famous for its fantastic food or visiting Iskenderun (originally named Alexandria after Alec the great).  That said, it wouldn't take a major diversion to visit Adana  :) otherwise known as spicy kebab heaven.

Amazing blog! What a marvellous adventure you're having, and so much knowledge of everywhere too. I've just begun to follow on Instagram. Immersed myself in the fantastic photos, thank you Casey!  8)

Well what a very fortunate young man to be educated in this way. Wonderful reading, but not finished it all yet. Looking forward to immersing myself in it, best thing I've read since Durrel.
Enjoy every minute, and thanks for sharing.  :D :D

There have been a couple or more posts on Caseys blog since the first Sema Ritual post, the Mevlana blog, perhaps you might like to catch up with the journey. We are still in Konya and leave for Aksaray tomorrow and the Silk Road.

Tonight we should have been at the finale of the Mevlana Festival which is being held in the football stadium which is enormous.........

We heard at the beginning of the week that Erdogan would be attending.........

Then the bomb went off this morning, not a million miles away, in Kayseri.........

We had bought tickets for this evening well in advance, but we have chosen not to go.... I'm sure everything will be fine there, but it just seemed like common sense to play it safe.

What would you have done???
