I don't have much time for the Daily Sabah for a variety of reasons, but like any other Turkish newspaper I always give it a scan to see how they spin things.  Finance, economy and politics is usually as much as I read, however I was looking for a particular article and while searching came across this wee gem.

If you enjoy cooking (or eating for that matter!) and get a bit bored with what's available in Migros et al and the weekly market, then there are some good links to online food suppliers in Turkey.  They describe it as "gourmet" shopping, but then again they would...

Between the various sites I came across bomba rice for your paella, truffles, parmesan cheese, a whole site dedicated to porcini and the one that made me laugh, Jamie Oliver pasta sauces.  None of it is cheap but not as expensive as you might think.  Didn't investigate carriage as I couldn't be bothered.
