Really impressed with Salih's new restaurant on Baris,Manco blvd No 91 (next to Sok).A lovely comfortable retreat from the hustle and bustle of the prom. As expected from Salih a nice menu at sensible prices..I'm sure everyone will wish Salih the very best and convinced he will get plenty of support from our forum.

Looking forward to trying this out when we get there in two weeks.
-
Meal there tonight. Excellent. His daughter is a little sweetly and a real character. Will be back again soon????????
-
We're also looking forward to having a meal there.
The food looks fabulous in the photos I've seen.
It's also great to have somewhere serving proper Turkish food, too many places now serving what they think we want
-
Tried it in early April
When not long open
Didn’t even have menus printed yet
But salih and his chefs made us most welcome
And served us mixed mezes
And a huge meat platter
To allow us to try everything
Highly recommend it
We will be back in June

Sounds great, we arrive in 11 days time and are really looking forward to trying the new place out

Will look this place up in June for a change of scenery and menu. How far from the chemist at the Dolphin-less roundabout? Thanks..

Ate there last night, and wow, it was terrific!!
A lamb casserole with gorgeous pieces of tender lamb (no grisly or fatty bits) and a meltingly lovely lamb shank, both served in dishes covered in bread.
The puffy bread starter was served with that tomatoey stuff I can never remember the name of, butter, cheese, yogurt and an unidentified but yummy fritter.
It was unsurprisingly very busy, and we shall return.

We tried it as well when we were out early May was really nice defo be back in July
-
Visited twice last week and the food is fabulous. Salih and staff are doing a great job, and if the standards continue, it will be a contender for CBF's best restaurant award. ;D

I would add our vote in favour of this being a great find. We ate there three times in three weeks and it was great each time. Two of us first visit, three on the second and seven on the final outing. Everybody enjoyed it. A very welcome change from the prom. and great food at very reasonable prices. Lovely setting, too.

Went last night in the wonderful company of pi55y and Captain Squiffy and w oils report as follows:
Location. 9/10 (exactly as Toky said)
Ambience: 9/10 (very calm and peaceful with soft background music)
Staff: 9/10 (lots of staff very smartly dressed)
Service: 9/10 (attentive without being overbearing)
Prices: 9/10 (very good value compared to other establishments - chicken casserole 33tl, liver shush 27. Drinks may have been a tad expensive but forget to look but there was lots consumed)
Food. 10/10 (all 4 dishes absolutely sensational - superbly presented with not a chip to be seen and so, so tasty. Best meal ever in Calis and maybe anywhere else for that matter by a long, long way.
All-in-all a wonderful experience and highly, highly recommended.

We ate here twice during our stay and all I can say is WOW!!!!
First was with a group of friends who all agreed the food and service was top notch. We left our second visit till the last night of our holiday and both chose different dishes to our previous visit and again everything was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented.
The Cappadocia Special and Chef's Special Adana proved to be our favourites so far but we are looking forward to working out way through the menu on our next couple of visits.
If you've not tried it yet, your missing out.

If there is a downside, it is that its not very well lit in places especially near to the wall at the entrance

Eh??? Leave your sun glasses at home at night.

We went there on saturday. We tried some kebabs and mezes. We were 5 people and all of us are very happy with the meals. We will definetely go back. They also do take away which we will use very often.
-
We visited Babzen tree times in the two weeks there, nothing but praise for the food and staff, they also do a mean cocktail. if you fancy something different try the Adana Kebab special, consist of Adana kebab wrapped in this bread and cooked, topped with yoghurt and tomato sauce. They also give lavash (puffy bread) with meze. Probably the cheapest place we ate the whole two weeks.
-
I hadn't realised you were Irish ;) ;) ;)
-
All kebabs that we tried are very good. My favorites are:
1- Shaslik
2- Cop (chop) shis
3- Adana. If you can not eat hot, ask for Urfa (Same as Adana but not hot)
-
The puffy bread starter was served with that tomatoey stuff I can never remember the name of
Would that be the spicy paste dish - ezme?
-
We visited once and although quite nice it was fairly average as far as Turkish food goes.Served up a bit fancier etc.Nice place though and reasonably priced.
-
Yes, that’s it, Colwyn. Strange thing is I can remember easily four syllable Turkish words, but little ones go in one ear and out the other! I am old and blonde though!

Yesterday we went to Babzen for Turkish brekky OMG it was divine three types of bread, pide, stuffed mushrooms ( which i just love) fried eggs, a delicious stuffed pastry and loads more bits, their yogurt and plum jam and honey was the best Iv ever eaten here...all this 30tl per head which also included chai, I cant recommend this enough... :)
