Title: Hello
Post by: RichardF on May 11, 2019, 21:36:05 PM
Hi, I’m newly registered but have been visiting this site since our first visit to Calis in 2015. We’ve returned every year since and at the moment counting down the days till our next visit at the end of July. We always stay on Lissa Links, never been to Fethiye, never done any excursions just relax by the pool during the day and visit the restaurants and bars in the evening with Bamboo, Joseph’s being our regular places.

Welcome to the posting side of CBF Richard.

I find it amazing that you stay at Lissa Links and have never been to Fethiye but hey, whatever you love to do when in town  :)

Hope you enjoy the forum.

Thanks Scunner, you’re not the first to find it amazing that we’ve not been to Fethiye. We like our routines and find Calis has everything for us. Still haven’t tried all the restaurants yet and it wasn’t until last year on our 4 th visit we found charcoal palace   :)

I don't think any of us have tried all the restaurants and probably never will  :D

I'm possibly the opposite - we always have somewhere to go or someone to meet and I grumble after a few days that all I want is a day with nowhere to go, to just do nothing around around the pool all day.

When I finally get that day, I lie for 10 minutes and am up wanting to know where we can go  :D

Yes, we have our favourite restaurants that we visit twice a holiday so that limits the new ones we can try but always looking out for recommendations on the forum

Hi, Richard; great to hear you enjoy yourselves at Lissa Links, but you really should get out to see what the rest of the local area have to offer!

All the best!

Hi Cenk, thanks for the welcome.

Hi Hornedfrog, we have been to the Sunday market and last year went as far as pizza Calisto for an evening meal. Maybe this year we’ll try the water taxi to Fethiye, maybe?  ;)

Please do go on the water taxi to Fethiye. It's such a lovely way to get there.

The harbour front in Fethiye makes for a nice stroll and the town centre has loads of shops and cafes for you to try  :)

Hi thats exactly what we have done when we go to Mexico at christmas , our turkey visits are very different though.

We discovered how good the busses were a few years ago and now we often only do a day or 3 in different places around Mugla

This is probably the one we do most,  couple of days in Dalyan , mad night out in Marmaris , few days in Oludeniz . finish off in Kayakoy.

cant wait until we get over in 2020 and we have a real road trip.

Hi Tosh Tosh, thanks for the welcome, you're right it is a fantastic forum and full of good information, hopefully i'll be able to contribute in the future!!

Hi Menthol, we will definitely use the water taxi to Fethiye, I'm sure my wife and daughter will like trying the shops, i'll try and find a nice bar that they can come and meet me at after they'e finished  ;D
Just like they do in Calis, they'll go and have a wander and then find me in Joseph's perfectly happy!!

Hi MrT, we did New York a few years ago for a family wedding, stayed in a hotel out in New Jersey, kids loved it doing nothing playing in the pool etc. Stayed in New York for 3 nights on the way back, did all the sights, including the water taxi, and my daughter didn't really enjoy it said she preferred the pool - lesson learnt   ;)
