Hello all, just to let you know that a new bar and restaurant has now opened on Koca calis beach this year called the Mavi beach… myself and wife had a wonderful meal there a couple of weeks ago, it’s a purpose built log cabin style building with veranda and tables outside and plenty of indoor seating as well, it also has a small stage area for live music and a fully fitted modern restaurant kitchen and professional chef. Well worth a visit..

We walked past it in April and it looked like it was getting ready to open - it looked fantastic.

It really is good Keith…not your normal fly by night beach bar this place looks like it’s here to stay.

Went last Friday. Very good and so well appointed.
Lovely free meze to start with then my starter of abundant garlic mushrooms. My main course of sizzling lamb was very tasty but the sizzle pot kept going out due to the design (no air holes).
Efes or Tuborg both 15tl.
They also look like they intend to be the surf bar at our end as you can hire everything for the sea.
Going for lunch tomorrow so I will report back but first impressions are really good.
Mekan just opened. Max’s place now gone (pretty much raised to the ground). Zentara looks to be decent again and the Mozzie bar yet to open its doors.
I see the Surf Bar was charging 25tl a beer - unless you are “friends” then it’s 20tl. Now they are saying 20tl to everyone. No thanks ;)

Not sure if it’s still open at the moment but they are on Facebook.
We went three times in May/June.
First time we struggled to get someone to take our order.
Second time was lunch and everything was ok.
Third time we had a party of 10 and just about everything went wrong. From having to wait ages for some starters because they decided to go shopping for them rather than tell us they didn’t have any to some meals that were not very good plus drinks arriving that we didn’t order.
However it is a new venture and personally I will try them again next year. It could just have been inexperience to be honest and having seen their Facebook posts over the summer they do appear to be getting people in.
It’s a lovely spot and I wish them all the best.
