Im not worried, just totally P****d off that the Turks have had a rough time over the last couple of years and this will only add more fuel. I don't read the Express, but was given the article by my Mother who was very worried . This is how NOT to help the tourism figures.

The Daily Express is anti welfare state and now it seems anti idulgence in the nicer side of living. I could always find one reason for not buying a property anywhere in the world. It is much harder to find more than one good reasons for buying. It requires more jouranlistic skills!

There was quite a bit of debate about this on Mushtaq's forum yesterday as you know Sleuth but didn't it turn out that it was from the Cyprus edition of the Express and possibly to do with a bit of Greek scaremongering. I have just looked on the forum for the thread but cannot find it now.

I seem to recall that members in the UK could not find the article in their papers - not sure where you are based Pookie.

I have just read the article,and it is indeed a scaremongering piece of journalism. Anyone reading this article will surely be mislead and this does not enhance Ex pats/Turkish relations. Obvioulsy Helena Smith did not not research the subject fully "remote airports along the coast" hardly think the airports are remote, we went to Izmir approx. 13 years ago not remote but a 2 hour trip for holiday destinations, now there is Bodrum apt.The half page article in yesterdays Express must have exhausted HS workload as there is no mention of the outcome of the election in the edition i read today $:-\$

Yes I did mean the Sunday Express, when we were discussing it UK members could not find it.
