George's Restaurant
« on: October 22, 2007, 18:56:41 PM »
I think some positive info about George's restaurant is missing!

This year we went to Pelin Hotel in Calis for the third time.
Also for the third time we took the chairs in front of George's.

Service on the beach: fresh orange juice, any drink,  is brought to your chair.
You just sit there all day, eat, drink and before returning to your hotel you pay for the day.

Turkish coffee: OK, lunch: the standard from the menu or as you like it yourself ( just ask for your version of an omelet). They make fresh ayran if you ask.
In the (clean) toilet : icy cold water to cool down, coming from the beach.
If you order ( delicious ) lamb-shank , be careful with starters because the small stone tray holds enough to fill you.
The lobster meal was ( as more meals ) more then enough, fresh and we were not broke afterwards.
Cocktails: if you like a stiff drink, ask for Charda's "Long Island Ice Tea ". I tried several in other bars: I think Charda wins.

Don't be afraid when Yusuf ( Joseph ) climbs on the bar to perform some minutes of statue-ing.

In 2009 we will have to try their Chinese kitchen.
The Chinese cook offered to make a special on the last day of our stay  We will have to wait. Even more difficult when I read that at Serkul 1 ( neighbour on the right ) there also is a Chine cuisine artist ......

During conversation personnel can be surprisingly open-minded.
They like to tell about their life and work.
Quite refreshing.
