So it was all about money then. He's got his new 5 year contract and no doubt a big pay rise.

Good luck to him. He's staying at a club on a downward slope in my opinion but at least it will be off the back page after tomorrow - I hope.

I agree wages should be capped but I don't think Rooney has stayed for money, I am sure Man City, Chelsea or Real are in a position to pay him more.
