"A group of WDSF/ProWal-Activists drove nearly 2000 kilometers through Turkey in April 2011 to stop all 9 dolphinarium in 8 cities. We demonstrated in every city with dolpinarium in front of them. We talked with the mayors of the dolphinarium-cities and with the gouverneur-office of Antalya to stop it all. The gouverneur and most mayors promise us, to prove the closing of the Turkish dolphinarium. If not, we will start a worldwide boycott-action in cowork with travel operators against cities in Turkey with dolphinarium.
In cooperation of WDSF together with the great German and British travel operators all dolphinarium-tours in Turkey are stopped now (TUI, Thomas Cook with Neckermann, Bucher-Travel and Öger Tours, REWE-Touristic with ITS and Jahn-Travel, Schauinsland-Reisen, Alltours, FTI-Touristic).
We love Turkey and their people, but we don't love dolphins in captivity - we want them free in ocean! We will win (believe it or not, managers of dolphinarium!)."
