Just realised that Barca's starting 11 included 7 home grown players to Manu's 3 English players. OK Giggs speaks the same language but you could say that about Messi and Mascherano as well.

Stoop, I think you are making a very valid point. No one can provide the answer as to why some countries can produce a team of such gifted players but we in the UK cannot. The reason that it is because we have too many foreign players does not hold water. Spain and Italy have many foreign players.I look at the Arsenal most of the young players on their books come from all over the world and they have just nicked 2 from Barca.

All of the top English clubs seem more interested in chasing around the world to pick up the best youngsters rather than develop their home grown talent.

it was a pleasure to watch one of the greatest teams in the modern era. having seen the great real madrid team of the 60s. ajax from the 70s and liverpool team of the 80s in my mind the only team can touch this barca team could be. might be the great brazil of the 1970 world cup and then that is a tough call. what a great advert for a truly wonderful team. congrats barca
