German/Belgian beer in any bars?
« on: September 23, 2014, 08:23:13 AM »
I am over here with some friends who are loving their first visit, but they asked a question I did not know the answer to.

Is there a place around Calis/Fethiye that stocks proper German or Belgian beer? I love Efes but it would be great to know if anyone has found a place for more beer options.

Lots of danish, dutch, american and belgian entries there...

I haven't seen any "proper" german beers around. Our hotel had Becks but I'm not keen on that Beer in the UK (and I'm a big German beer fan). I suspect lots of those mentioned might be brewed under licence in Turkey in any case. If anything alcoholic has been imported in to Turkey, it'd be quite expensive anyway.

Tell them just to stick to the Efes - a fine pilsener which somehow tastes even better in Turkey anyway.

Can you still get Pera? I tried it once but just went back to Efes straight after.

Eyna sounds like the best bet, we'll check that out. Loving the efes but nice to mix it up a bit.
Thanks for your help.

Yes you can stiill get Pera in the little market on Gunlukbasi high street and Sevi Classic was also selling it. Makes a nice change from Efes.

Just replying to my own old thread. I've found Leffe and Duval bottles in the big Kippa on the way from Calis to Fethiye. They also stocked a German wheat beer among all the normal lagers.
