Shanghai Blues - What has gone wrong?
« on: October 07, 2014, 20:20:47 PM »
Always been a great fan of this place, but tonight ..........

We arrived and waited absolutely ages for our order to be taken, this was despite the restaurant being almost empty, eventually our drinks order was taken, the two beers we ordered were never delivered but of course appeared on bill.

The glass of coke which came out of a plastic bottle cost 8 lira and a bottle of water 5 lira.

Two of us ordered sizzling Szechuan plates, neither sizzled when it was eventually delivered, I called the waiter and asked why, he said, "it's hot" shrugged his shoulders and walked away.

In all honesty, the food was lovely, we used to feel that the service was just too quick, starter and main course was served so quickly, we often felt rushed. Not anymore, service was rubbish and prices are expensive.

Sorry SHB, it will be some time before you get another Kurus from us.

Could be "end of season" syndrome", it no excuse and diners who are paying their wages should receive the best service.

I have to say I thought the prices were expensive, but on having a takeaway, there was loads of food when we got it home, enough for 2 in each container, we couldn't eat it all.

I have never found it particularly good as a restaurant but as a take away it's been absolutely fine (albeit a tad expensive)..

This confirms what Des Martinson and others were saying earlier in the year, in particular about the high prices.
