I've got mjne through Finansbank but i've never claimed so not sure how good they are.

Some members have got theirs through UK companies. Try the search facility if not many replies.

You can use UK ınsurance companıes ıf your home ıs a holıday home and used for lettıngs. If you lıve here you need a Turkısh company. I use AK Sıgorta and have claımed with no problems. I use the broker round the corner from Sultan Patisserie. Polıcy ıs ın englısh.

Many thanks for your replies, I appreciate it depends on the size of the property and contents etc but curious as to the costs are they similar to the UK.

We only rent, so only get contents cover based on 4 bed house contents.
This year it was 180tl
That's the best cover as many policies are very limited. However, we were advised that none will cover for roof flooding damage.

As Kayakebab we get ours from Dinah at Denar next to McDonalds in Fethiye.  This year Buildings and Contents came out at just over 450tl, for a 4 bed detached, not forgetting the DASK (earthquake insurance) which is another 180tl or so.  I'd say cheaper than the UK, but prices of insurance in general are going up fast in the last year, so the gap could be narrowing if you are serching around for the best price/service in the UK.

Having said that Dinah will usually offer you three different qoutes from different insurance companies, a number of which you will know from the UK...although they are French and German companies!!

I also use Dinah at Renar office next to mc Donald's.
I do ALL my insurances through her and she has saved me loads of money and I also got the house policy in English.
She also informs you when your policy is due for renewal.

Dinah sounds a good choice, I will go see them when I'm out later in the month.
Many thanks for your replies.
