Well they refused the Coops offer of free food because of dates. Yesterday I opened a large catering tin of Heinz beans

that was 14 months past the "best before" date.I divided it into plastic tubs, ate 1 tub and put the rest in the freezer.

Perfect food. I bought 3 of those large tins for £1 off a market trader a few months ago. 18 large portions of Heinz

Baked Beans for £1.          ;)   Last Sunday I bought 24 jars of Clear Honey that had set. Put a jar in warm water for 10 mins

and it will clear and stay clear for months. I paid £ 8 for 24 jars of perfect Honey.

Most canned goods are still perfectly edible years after their best by date, as long as the can isn't "blown".
