Finisbank- Interest Rates
« on: May 08, 2018, 10:37:07 AM »
Not sure if anyone can give me some advise
Have currently got the 32 day account paying 10.5% when I was last in Turkey, have read someone about the daily rate paying a higher rate.
And are their any resecutions on when you can pay in to that account or can you just pay in when ever you go into the bank and no set date.
Sorry for so many questions but unfortunately we can only come over a few times of the year at present and often miss the set date for this account but looking to invest more before we decide to come for longer periods.
Thanks

That, purely in my opinion, would not be the smartest move right now.

Agree withy JohnF. Interest rates vs exchange rates, if you ever want to convert back to GBP.

Thank you for your opinions
And cause I appreciate the change in the lira but my intentions are to use as spending money
Don't wish to be a pain asking the same question but do you think a daily rate would be better
????????????????????????????

It's a little ironic, Fishman, asking for advice on making money out of the lira on a day when it has made such spectacular losses.

I don't know what article you read Fishman but perhaps Erdogan read the same one as he and senior economic advisers are currently ensconced in emergency session about the sad state of the lira.

I'll update once we're done.  My suggestions went down like a lead lavas bread  :)

The Government has beaten you to the update. It is a triumph of the art of issuing public statements utterly empty of meaning. Essentially it says "We are going to do lots of things to improve stuff. But we are not telling you what they are".

That's because I'm sworn to secrecy.
