Title: Do you have more than one Apple ID
Post by: nichola on March 13, 2014, 11:30:43 AM
Does anyone have more than one Apple ID and how do you find this works?

I found out recently that there is more than one store and your user ID is for the country where you set it up. This means that you can't download certain apps as they aren't necessarily available in all stores, like for example BBC iplayer.

This also means that when you travel you can't download certain apps even free ones that you might just want to use while visiting that country.

Those that travel a lot may find this useful - how to set up a user ID without using a credit card.

And this for setting up another user ID

I have two Apple ID's. One for the Netherlands and one for the USA.
Both accounts are set up without using credit card details.
When I buy something from the I store, I use a prepaid top up card.

We have tried to download apps and we keep getting the message that we do not have an account in the German store.
As we are based in the UK, we are flummoxed.
Any ideas.?

Have a look at this - you can check which country and store your id is linked to and see how to change it

Do let me know how you get on Sue.

I am interested to know Dutchie what happens to your free apps downloaded in one country when you are signed in to a different country store.

Is it just the paid for apps which you cannot see/access?

And can you download apps when physically in one country but signed into the store of another country.

Anyone!

I live in Turkey and my main account is with the Dutch store. I have purchased a few paid apps and loads of free ones. To buy from the store, I use prepaid card that gives you credit.
In the past I wanted to change stores but this wasn't possible since I had some credit left.
I wanted to get an app from the US store so created a second account. It was a free app for watching ABC series and downloading it was no problem. However, accessing the app could only be done from the USA but I got around that by using VPN OneClick.
In the end I found the series on Couchtuner and watching through there was a lot easier so I deleted the app. Still have the US account but never use it.

You can change your country without having a second account.
Go into your iTunes App Store and scroll to the bottom of the page.
Then click on your Apple ID. Select view Apple ID and click on country.
You can then change your country there.
I have downloaded American apps (when in USA) doing it this way.
