Re todays Hurriyet news is this the biggest excuse ever from the Mayor??[:(!][:(!]

Apparently unaware of the negative responses online and the growing concern, Yilmaz said: "I don't like working with computers and don't have one in my office so I'm not aware of this [online activity]: however, I have respect for the views of those who may oppose the dolphinarium and invite them to speak with me in person. My door is always open to the public."

Meeting this afternoon between council and the major tour operators to discuss this.

If you know any of these operators please phone/ email them to let them know our feelings

Just been past the hole and NO SIGN OF ACTIVITY - fingers crossed.

Surprised that the mayor did not know about the on line protest. Earlier this week one of his deputies gave me a right earful about the 1500 emails received and that foreigners should butt out of telling the Turks how to run their country.

It was obvious that the mayor genuinely sees this as a way of boosting tourism in the area.

So who is telling "Porkies" ????

And it has not only been foreigners sending these e mails, joining the forums etc. it has been the Turkish people as well, so he can't use that as an excuse.

Wouldn't a small golf course, tennis court, childrens small fairground etc. been a better idea for attracting tourists

That's why it is so heartening to see all the Turkish names in the Facebook groups and petitions. Means we are not "telling the Turks how to run their country", we are supporting the Turks who are telling them how to run their country. Big difference.

Your help needed - thanks in advance!
