Soba is sold..good riddance. Cost me a fortune in wood. Now going to cost me more. The soot/smoke damage is all over the ceiling and walls. I've been trying to clean it for two days. Poxy cleaner, General and degreaser. Jiff kitchen cleaner, hot fairy liquid water. 2 buckets and sponges one to wash one to rinse, and the steam cleaner.
I am at a loss what to do to get it clean. This is a rental place too. Gonna get stung for a paint job.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Paint job may be most effective - although soot has a habit of bleeding through fresh paint, so a base coat of stain block probably best.

Yes thinking so too. Whats stain block in Turkish??

For light coloured walls and ceilings I use white Undercoat paint, ( oil based, not emulsion ) You can thin it very slightly with Turps,White spirit,
it makes it easier to use with a smooth roller. Leave it to dry well then paint with emulsion. Far cheaper than stain blockers.

Do they even sell that here kev? Dont really see much gloss about. Thanks will go in search of a paint shop over the weekend.

Go to B.&.Q in Fethiye. The big D.I.Y shop, they have lots of paint and also have English speaking staff.

There is a good paint shop on the right hand side going down into Fethiye on the one way. I think it's after the Dalaman road.
They just do painting goods and have the latest colour matching machines.
