After nearly seven years in estate agency I do pride myself in not missing a trick, and being able to piece together a full picture from often obscure observations. We are currently looking to move and the kids had to come with us to a few viewings. I told them to remember that they were visiting people's homes, and if there was anything they didn't like that they should not say it until we had left and were back in the car.
After one viewing we returned to the car and we discussed a rather odd smell in part of the house. I then remembered that the woman had said that her husband had taken the dogs out to "get them out of the way" for us viewing. "I wonder how many dogs they have" I said. One daughter piped up "They have two golden retrievers, I saw a photograph of them in the living room". "Well done" I said, "good detective work".
Not to be outdone, the other daughter continued our conversation with "They also have a son called Simon, who works at Tesco"...
