Proxies and Authorities
« on: April 11, 2011, 14:21:43 PM »
Hilary and I have set up proxy votes so we can vote in favour of AV (and probably Labour council candidates) when we are in Turkey next month. We had to submit requests separately but both nominated as our proxy our daughter - who lives with us.  With admirable effiency from Bristol City Council our confirmations (one for me and one for Hilary)  arrived today, just a few days after application, together with two proxy notifications for our daughter. And ... here is the astonishing part ... all four letters arrived in the one envelop at minimum postage cost. Somebody noticed our surnames and addresses were identical. Well done the public sector; achieving something that, in my experience, half of public sector companies cannot fathom and so litter my doorstep with repeat postings. Good on you.

Yes but there's every chance that three empty envelopes are on the way, just that they've been delayed in the Royal Mail:D
