News International phone hacking trial
« on: June 25, 2014, 06:00:55 AM »
So Andy Coulson has been found guilty, no real surprise there.  The real surprise for me was Rebeka Brooks getting off. I thought the evidence against her that I read in the quality press was pretty compelling over the phone hacking, in particular over the Milly Dowling case.

I wonder, given that there were eight women on the jury, if the there is a reluctance on a jury for women to find another woman (and a mother albeit a surrogate child) guilty when there is a risk of jail time?

Coulson was the fall guy   Brooks had an extremely good team of lawyers.  Her brief gets £800 per hour.  I think if I had of been on the jury the fact she was a woman would have made no difference to me.
She is an extremely luck woman to be found not guilty when we look at the evidence stacked against her.. British Justice...what a laugh.

British justice at its very best. Lets hope the press respect her privacy now.  ;)
