Anyone lend me tuppence so I can get me one of these?

Actually the Dandy and Beano were both thrupence when I was a lad but.......I would have badly needed one of these free gifts!!

My Mother in Law worked at D.C.Thomson's  in Dundee and  she brought home the first copies of the Dandy and the Beano for her little sister.   If only she had kept hold of them.   i was speaking to the Manager of the Cancer Research shop in Dundee and they had a first copy of the Beano handed in.  It made £11,000 in Auction.   
So, go and have a good look in your lofts.

We watched the antiques roadshow yesterday,didn't notice you in the crowd Jacqui   :)

Oor Wullie, is famous here in Scotland and lot of people have images of him and statues in their gardens.  Kids go to fancy dress parties as Oor Wullie.   Think you would recognise him take a look below.

We couldn't afford comics when I was a boy.

I remember my mum moving me from Playland on to Buster and Cor!! - to be honest I didn't feel ready for that move at the time.
