Well we are all flooded again as of yesterday. Many of us have written to MUSKI asking for them to keep the drainage channels open but they are refusing to send in the digger. Barut have sent one but it was too late to stop the flooding in the area.

If anyone wants to write to MUSKI I have an email address for an English speaking employee.

Only in Turkey can they be doing all that work in this  area to improve flooding, they  spend tens of thousands Lira and houses still get flooded, its  criminal   feel for all the poor peoples houses and belongings getting ruined every year, im lucky that  my house is up high and only suffers from a small bit of damp,  >:(

I think it was mainly Cicek and Saglik that were hit. However since they have started to build a staff accomodation block in the middle of a lake (for the new Barut Hotel) it has definatley made the whole area worse.

The main thrust now is to get MUSKI to make sure the drainage channels are kept open and clear. When this is done the flooding doesn't happen as the water escapes into the sea.

It's not rocket science but I'm afraid a lack of funding might be the problem.

Surely the Hotel has some responsability for building on the lake?

" i have had confirmation from Ceren Türk at MUSKi that Yusof ERYILMAZ, Chief of Fethiye Canalisation, will open the original river that used to drain the lake near Mavi Kent Sitesi to the sea, as i have been asking them to do, since the first of January. i understand from people who have lived here in Koca Çaliş longer than i have that this river did not block up as readily as the more recent one. i have also had confirmation from Ekrem Hepeyiler, Manager of Fethiye Barut Hotels, that they will resurface all the roads that they have used in this area when they finish construction of the staff accomodation in a few weeks time."
