There was another large fire in Ciftlik this afternoon drawing the fire helicopters in. A lot of smoke but we couldn't see it from our roof as there was a big tree in the way. It looked to be behind the hill where the last fire was.
We later found out it was on the road running past the market (opposite Melisa market) and near the school. It was scrub grass and trees and was put out without injuries or property damage.
A friend of ours was frantically hosing his garden as it was only 100 metres from his house. It was getting desperate and he thought he might have to throw his Efes on the flames but the choppers did their stuff and all was ok.
Seriously, well done to everyone involved and a reminder of how dry everything is now.
