Pork products at Kipa
« on: July 26, 2012, 12:43:07 PM »
I've noticed today that Kipa now have 2 shelves of the meat section dedicated to pork products. At the mom it is only bacon, parma ham & salamis, none of which are cheap. The bacon I think is from Poland, judging by the lettering on the pack & is IRO 30tl for 500g.

Let's see how long it lasts

We are coming out Aug. 26th, & can bring a certain amount, ( 8 Kilos ), of smoked/ unsmoked sandwich bacon (thickish slices), for equivalent of 60 Ytl, for 2 (TWO) Kilos. I can split the packs into 1 Kilo packs if preferred. So, 1st 4, ), or 8  ), Members can have some LOVELY bacon sarnies  :P :P  ;)

Calm down Gordon!  I wasn't having a 'Go' at your offer Gordon! & I wasn't offering to take any over!

I was teasing at the price of Bacon here as opposed to the price of it in Turkey, much the same as people like to tease people about the difference in the sun/weather, price & flavour of tomatoes etc, etc..................

We have room in our luggage for another 8 kilos of weight, & thought, after reading the post by Liz 101, that it would be nice to use it to let some Ex-pats have some absolutely lovely bacon for a change, to be perfectly honest if no-one wants to take advantage of my offer, I will let a restaurant/cafe have it.   ;) :P

For us ex-pats, compared with price we have to pay here, this a bargain & in any event, I haven't found smoked bacon anywhere, so Gordon & Loz's kind offer is more than acceptable to me (& my neighbours, who are sharing it) :P
