I have learned that there is a repellant patch which is recommended as a solution to deter biting insects. The application of one patch to the body apparently gives protection for 24 hours. The ingredient is thiamine(vit.B1).The patches cost £13.99 per pack of 14,plus £2.99 P&P to UK (don't know about any other destination).
If anyone is interested visit

for more information.I'm off to order mine now.

Never really had any bother with midges. Mosquitos are my bug bear.
I will tell my husband though.

I believe the patches deter any biting insect, including mossies. Here's hoping.

seems a bit expensive - over £1 a day. Why not take the tabletsbefore coming out? Or of course - eat the marmite (have we been here before)?

Do Twiglets work? I like Twiglets.

The patches are supposed to work for 24 hours. How many tablets would you need to take over that period teresa321.Steve B perhaps you should log on as twitlet:D:D:D

I think they sound interesting. I should imagine that to anyone who suffers badly with bites and particularly people who's reaction to bites is severe £1 a day is bobbins!
They do seem to work on the same premise of the B1 tablets which to me are horrible to take but which seem to have done the trick over the last few holidays. That's assuming that midge'sand mozzies are dealt with in the same way!

Got my patches and will use them in September in Calis.

The marmite patches cost much less and are self adhesive :D

Forget the patches. The marmite gives you a nice tan if you're very careful.: :):D: :)
