Just been and registered for SSK and it could not have been easier.
As hubby needs 2 ops the hospital recommended we obtain it to reduce costs. The office is opposite Zakkum Restaurant next to Finnans Bank, it's a new building. The gentleman on reception speaks perfect english and will fill the form in for you. You need to have lived here for a year and have residency. You need your passport, residency blue book and nufus number. The details will be put on the computer and you need to go back 1 month later and pay 1st installment and they will then give you your SSK number. You can pay monthly at this office or any bank or set up a direct debit at your turkish bank.Costs 250lire a month per family no matter how many in it and you only register in 1 persons name when you go back you take all the other family members documents to register them under this SSK number. The previous costs quoted on the forum of 180tl is for people who have citizenship.I know people are going to say you can get private medical insurance cheaper but we are of the older generation and this suits us.Hope you find this helpful.
