Can't be any worse than the German fella we saw parading below us the other year, big fat belly, and all he had on was a thong, he looked idiotic, as well as disgusting. Alan

It's just decent manners to put a shirt on whilst eating in a restaurant.

They were definately Northerners, We in the South are far to cultured to go out in the evening without trousers and shirt as a minimum attire. ;)
Anyway, it seems nearly all are in agreement, what are we going to do about it?
Firstly do the bar owners get offended or is it just us?
if the bar owners do get offended or are worried about the main body of customers might get offended they need to put up signs stating there is a dress code for that particular bar in the evening.

I'll throw my two pennenth in here, part of our holiday is going out for a meal to a nice restaurant wearing decent clothes. I cant abide people who dont make the effort and make no apologies for it. We both look like Wayne and Waynetta Slob during the day but it's great to make the effort in the evening. Anyone who knows us would be shocked if we did anything else  :)

Just to say we in Scotland prefer to wear our clothes in restuarants--only time we get to wear our clothes out without a raincoat

I think on the beach it is acceptable to do your own thing. However in restuarants in a country where modesty is part of the culture it is not acceptable to be sitting around in restuarants in swimsuits.

Yeah even if I go round to the shop during the day or for lunch I put a skirt and vest on I wouldn't just go in a bikini.
